our

Vision

We hope to give our kids a sense of belonging, a sense of purpose, and a sense of fulfillment.

This goal guides the social opportunities, academics, and recreation we offer at SOAR.

Belonging: We want SOAR to be a place our youth enjoy being. Parents and friends support and care for one another at SOAR. We want to foster a safe and welcoming environment.

Purpose: We want our youth to find purpose in their learning and activities. We will help them connect learning to their personal lives and encourage them to find ways to improve and impact the world around them.

Fulfillment: We want our youth to find fulfillment in the challenges we provide by taking pride in their progress and recognizing the growth they make. We will encourage them to share their growth with others and encourage each other along the way.

We hope that our youth grow as friends, develop new skills, and increase their knowledge.

We hope that they learn to soar!

Values

Cultivate Community

SOAR is a core social group for our youth. These are the friends they will grow up with, reach milestones with, and seek after. We are looking to cultivate relationships and connections that are impactful to both youth and parents. Our community is built on collaboration; we are stronger when we work together. We strive to treat each other with kindness, compassion, and respect.

Preserve Childhood

Children are naturally curious and creative and they express those abilities through play. They are eager to learn, do, and create. Our clubs will give youth opportunities to freely explore their passions and find peers with similar interests. All ages will enjoy fresh air/recess time and hands-on activities in their classes. We hope our teens retain the childhood sense of self-confidence, curiosity, and creativity.

Celebrate growth

We find joy in the process and celebrate what we do and learn. Curiosity and determination are celebrated above success. We look forward to the future with hope and a positive mindset. We want our children to see the future as bright and full of potential. Each trimester, we will hold a festival where the kids can showcase, present, or perform what they have learned from their classes.

Enrich Learning

We want our youth to find purpose and passion in their learning. Classes at SOAR are an enrichment to learning already done at home. Learning will be hands-on, inquiry based, or project based. Youth will get to interact together as they learn. They will be doers and creators and experimenters and investigators.

Explore the World

Adventures help us get out of the classroom and explore the world around us. We want to give our youth a variety of experiences, help them discover new things, and see new sights. We prioritize time outside, enjoying nature and fresh air. We appreciate the “Wild + Free” movement. On our outdoor adventures youth will have time to explore, challenge themselves, and take risks.

Faith Statement

We are a multi-denominational organization and many members affirm a Christian worldview. All families are welcomed and honored at SOAR, with the knowledge that Christian values may be professed, prayers might be offered for friends, and religious holidays like Christmas will be recognized. We do not have bible time nor teach any religion, we understand that religion is highly personal.
