Classes at SOAR
Classes take place during the first hour of co-op. Kids break off into age groups for structured learning experiences. Classes are planned and taught by parents at SOAR.
Classes will be hands-on, project or inquiry based learning. Classes will have a clear goal, outcome, and purpose. Our classes primarily focus on sciences, STEM, art or music, though we welcome other subjects based on parent expertise and student interest.
While these classes enhances learning, SOAR is not a school and classes are not a replacement for the lessons and work done at home. We do not offer math or language arts classes.
Classes culminate with an end of trimester Showcase where students will get to present what they learned or worked on during the trimester. These will typically take place in the evening and family/friends are invited to attend.
A classroom is a place where a community of learners engages in discovery and invention, reflection and problem solving.”
